ANNOUNCEMENT – May 25, 2021
NEW PROVINCIAL HEALTH GUIDANCE EFFECTIVE MAY 25, 2021
The Government of BC and the Provincial Health Officer issued new provincial health orders effective May 25, 2021 that can be found here:
Province-wide restrictions - Province of British Columbia (gov.bc.ca)
Of note, youth sports teams are permitted to resume gameplay within their association and Softball BC is moving member associations into INNING 2 of the Softball BC – Back to Bases Guidelines.
As sport will follow the Province of BC’s Restart Plan CMSA will also be progressing through the phased approach to reopening, beginning with the removal of modified rules for scrimmaging effective immediately. Once the association has received the formal approval of the City of Surrey games will be permitted between CMSA teams through June 15, followed by competitive games and tournaments and including teams from other associations.
At this time there are many questions that are being answered and plans being adjusted as we received the encouraging news today around our Province moving forward within and outside of sport.
