Hello CMSA Families!

Registration for the 2023 season is now open and we look forward to seeing all of your children out at the park again this year!

We are continuing to use RAMP in order to easily mesh with the Softball BC registration process.  Good news for all of you is no more looking for your Softball BC number, the system will automatically link your registration in the background.  If you’re new to softball, a number will be assigned to you and the $10 fee will be paid to Softball BC as you complete your registration.

Here is the link to register for the 2023 season:  http://cloverdaleminorsb.rampregistrations.com

If you’ve used RAMP before, please log in with the same user id you’ve used before.  Click on the Participant Registration button and follow along through the process.

Payment will be accepted through e-transfer, cash or cheque.  If you choose the cash or cheque option, please email Sue Dawkins at sdawkins@shaw.ca to make arrangements for drop off.

The season will start the first week of April, you should start hearing from your coach around Spring Break.  For our C division teams, U5-U7 will run until the end of May with the rest of the age groups playing into mid/end of June.  Practices will be determined by the coach once teams are formed.

New this year for U11C, we will be doing player evaluations prior to the start of the season in mid to late March in order to make more balanced teams.  We will use these rankings along with any requests made to play with a certain player or for a certain coach to roster the teams and do our best to accommodate.  More information with dates and times will come out in early March.

We have removed the requirement for parent volunteer time to the association in the form of concession and fields during tournaments.  Instead we would like all parents to contribute to their teams.  Those that are not coaching or managing should be taking turns setting up the fields, scorekeeping, at the younger ages-umpiring, etc.  These jobs should not be done by coaches/managers, they need to focus on your kids and getting them ready for a practice or game.

We are always looking for coaches!  There is a question regarding this as part of your registration so please indicate if you are interested.  I already know we will need coaches in all age groups so please give this serious consideration, the kids can’t play without you and we don’t want to turn anyone away.  Even if you can’t commit 100% but are available part time we can pair you with someone else to ensure the team is always looked after.

If you have any questions, please contact Sue Dawkins (CMSA Registrar) at registrar@cloverdalesoftball.com.  And if you have any friends or family wanting to play softball please feel free to pass this information along to them.

Thanks

Your CMSA Exec. team
