Fury 05B wins Silver at the U17 Western Canadian Championships held in St. Albert, Alberta this past weekend!!

"Cloverdale Fury 05 finished 2nd in Softball BC Provincials earning them the top BC spot at the U17 Western Canadian Championships.

After almost 2 days of rain delays to start the U17 Westerns, Cloverdale Fury 05 finally got to play their games and finished the round robin play going 5 wins and 1 loss against top teams from Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba earning them the top spot going into the final 4.

They lost the 1st playoff game to their BC rivals, Okanagan Elite, 7-3. Their 2nd playoff game against RiverCity Hornets, Fury 05 was in tough and was down 4-0 in the bottom of the 4th and scored 4 runs to tie the game. In the 6th inning, Fury 05 scored 6 runs to put them ahead 10-5 to win and advance them to the Gold medal game where they fell short to their BC rival, Okanagan Elite.

This was the first Western Canadian Championships for Fury 05 and the memories made with this team will last a lifetime.

All season, it was a great team effort with strong defence being the key to this team's success along with strong pitching and timely hits.

Fury 05 successes this year included gold medals at District 7 Qualifier to earn a berth at Softball BC Provincials, Delta Fastpitch tournament and silver medals at the BC Softball provincials, Ridge Meadows tournament and Richmond tournament.

Through the cancelled seasons, the uncooperative weather, Fury 05 has stuck together and continued to train and work together to achieve their goals. The players played their hearts out, leaving it all on the field at the U17 Westerns and the coaches, parents and supporters are incredibly proud of what the team has accomplished."
