Squirt A Boys GOLD medal

Cloverdale Hurricanes

The Cloverdale Hurricanes capped off an epic season by winning the gold medal in the Squirt Boys “A” Provincials.  The Hurricanes made it through the regular season without suffering a single loss and lost only three games in tournament play all year, two of which came at the hands of their archrivals, the Whalley Warriors.  The Hurricane boys faced those same Whalley Warriors in the “A” finals at the provincials.  Cloverdale fell behind early in their second meeting of the day with Whalley and had to battle back from a 7 run deficit after two innings.  Needing to win their second game in a row against Whalley to claim the championship, the Hurricanes rallied with 17 unanswered runs over then next 3 innings to win the Squirt “A” title by a score of 17-7.  We couldn’t be prouder of our boys!  Congratulations to the Cloverdale Hurricanes on their tremendous year and many thanks to all the parents and supporters of our team!  GO Hurricanes GO!

“It was an incredible weekend.  The heat made it very difficult.  We steamrolled through our opening 4 games, beating teams from West Van (14-2), Clearwater (15-1), Naramata (17-2) and PoCo (16-1).  We entered the playoffs as the #1 seed and proceeded to beat Sooke (15-0) and then Ridge Meadows (16-2).  We had a real test against Chilliwack, who were also 6-0 at the time.  We beat them 3-0 to get the berth into the final.  Cilliwack made it’s way to the final where we hammered them 18-3 to win the championship.  The girls, parents and coaches are obviously thrilled.”

Bantam C Girls BRONZE medal

Cloverdale Fury

“Incredible weekend. We had the very toughest draw. 1st ,2nd,3rd, came out of our division.
Our girls played their best ball of the season, and all our games were so exciting. 2 international tie breakers and 3 games decided by 2 runs or less.  We did not have one easy game. The fans saw some awesome games.  District 7 finished 1st and 3rd. We are very proud of our girls and our bronze medal.

“The weekend was fantastic and the girls played some great ball…we placed 7th out of 16 teams.  We made it into the finals but fell short there!!  Can’t complain, every game was a nail bitter!!”

Welcome to Cloverdale Minor Softball!

Cloverdale Minor Softball Association is a non profit association under the society act of British Columbia. We are an all volunteer group dedicated to providing quality fastpitch to the youth of the Cloverdale area in Surrey, British Columbia. CMSA is the largest association for youth fastpitch in the city. With nearly 500 boys and girls participating in all age groups from Learn-to-Play to Junior Ladies, our softball association is a vibrant part of the community.

As a member association of Softball BC, CMSA emphasizes participation and fun. Our focus is on fair play and a positive approach to teaching the fundamental skills of the game. Our association motto says it all, "It's for the Kids!"

Our league games start at the beginning of April and go until the middle of June. All T-Ball games are played at Cloverdale Athletic Park.   MiniMite and higher divisions do interlock with other associations and away games are played at various parks (see Find the Parks page).  We try to schedule all home games at Cloverdale Athletic Park. However, if due to the number of teams, a lack of diamonds is created, some home games could be played at school diamonds in the Cloverdale area (see Find Other Parks).

CMSA supplies uniforms to all players. Depending on the division, players are provided a shirt (jersey), pants or shorts, a hat and a pair of socks. The hat and socks are kept by the player. Failure to return the rest of the uniform results in the player's deposit cheque being cashed.

Each team is provided with bats, balls, catcher's equipment and equipment bag. All players are required to supply their own batting helmets.
